Plus, spot on wrt MySQL.<br /><br />The only thing I would add is that it's not just MySQL: Sun had a long string of failed acquisitions. I don't know how much cash those (Cobalt, various storage systems, remote mgmt software builders etc) used up, but I assume some. Those ate into liquid cash as well.<br /><br />As an ex employee (left a while ago, survived through lay-offs but didn't see them ending, I saw the writing on the wall) it's bitter to see Sun set.
